OAKLAND – On Friday, June 10, Congressman John K. Delaney (MD-6) joined the Garrett County Democratic Club for their annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner, located this year at the Ace’s Run in Oakland. Delaney delivered the keynote at the event, also speaking was Lanny Davis, a White House adviser to former President Bill Clinton. Delaney addressed over 60 during his remarks. In May, Delaney introduced legislation to protect over 300 Garrett County jobs.
“I’m proud to be a voice for Garrett County and proud to stand up and fight for Western Maryland in Congress,” said Congressman Delaney. “Garrett County residents care about creating good local jobs, strengthening our national security and making sure their kids have a chance to live the American Dream. I thank the Garrett County Democrat Club and their President, Betty Pritt, for the opportunity to join them at Ace’s Run and for the important grassroots work they do in the community.”
In February, Delaney visited the new WVU Cancer Center at the Garrett Regional Medical Center. Hospital administration called Delaney “instrumental” in supporting the new facility and delivering federal funds towards building the new cancer center.
