GAITHERSBURG – The Western Maryland Building & Construction Trades Council has endorsed Congressman John K. Delaney in the race for Maryland’s Sixth Congressional District. The son of a union electrician, John grew up in a blue-collar household and thanks to a scholarship from his father’s union became a leading entrepreneur in Maryland. Delaney is the author of the largest bipartisan infrastructure bill in Congress, which uses revenues from international tax reform to rebuild America and create over one million new jobs.
“I’m honored to have received the endorsement of the Western Maryland Building & Construction Trades Council. This endorsement is truly special to me because I’m so proud to stand with the Building Trades in fighting for Western Maryland workers,” said Congressman Delaney. “America relies on the Building Trades every day, they’re the men and women who build the structures we use and keep the lights on and the water running. We need to make sure our economy works for working people and that starts with rebuilding our nation’s roads and bridges, beginning right here in Maryland. We also have to protect workers’ rights, fight for retirement security, support job training programs and make sure that we’re driving innovation and broad-based economic growth – that’s my agenda and that’s the agenda of the Building Trades.”
“John Delaney is a trusted champion for Western Maryland and a strong voice for working families,” said Lawrence A. Wolfe, Jr. President of the Western Maryland Building & Construction Trades Council. “John grew up in a blue collar union household and he knows the policies that will help create good-paying jobs because he’s done it himself as an entrepreneur. We need John Delaney in Congress and we’re proud to endorse him.”
