AARP Maryland has named Congressman John K. Delaney a “Champion of the 50+” for his legislative leadership on behalf of the 50-plus community and their families.
Delaney was recognized by AARP for his leadership role in new U.S. Department of Labor investor protections that ensure that retirement plan advisors must provide advice that is in the best interest of their clients. Delaney also voted against legislation to block these measures. Delaney has also authored bipartisan legislation to protect Social Security for the next 75 years.
“Congressman Delaney’s efforts will help improve the financial security of millions of Americans who are working hard to save for the future, by ensuring that they receive the most appropriate advice for their individual situation and that their trusted advisors are working in their interest,” said AARP Maryland State Director Hank Greenberg. “For this work, and his continued commitment to Marylanders 50+ and their families, we are truly grateful.”
