ICYMI: Delaney Campaigns in Iowa and New Hampshire in August, Headed to North Carolina, South Carolina, New Hampshire, and Iowa in September

Washington, D.C. – Congressman John K. Delaney, the first declared Democratic candidate for President, campaigned in Iowa and New Hampshire in August — talking to voters at house parties, ice cream shops, and at the Iowa State Fair. Delaney also met with elected officials, local Democratic candidates, and party leaders in both states. In September, Delaney will campaign in North Carolina, South Carolina, New Hampshire, and Iowa and plans to have offices open in Iowa and New Hampshire in the next 60 days.

Congressman Delaney added: “We are grateful to the Democrats in Iowa and New Hampshire for welcoming our campaign, and I am encouraged that Democrats in these two important states are ready to begin the conversation about 2020. Importantly, they also understand that the Democratic Party needs new ideas and new leadership for the future – two things our campaign offers.”

Delaney grew up in a blue-collar union household, and his parents did not attend college. Before the age of 40, Delaney founded and led two publicly-traded companies, and he is the only former CEO of a publicly-traded company in the House. Since 2013, Delaney has represented Maryland’s Sixth District in the House of Representatives, a competitive battleground district, and he has received national recognition for his breakthrough bipartisan infrastructure bill, which uses revenues from international tax reform to rebuild America’s roads and bridges. Delaney was named one of the World’s 50 Greatest Leaders by Fortune earlier this year.
