Delaney Campaigns in Iowa and South Carolina
COUNCIL BLUFFS – Congressman John K. Delaney, the first declared Democratic candidate for President, campaigned this weekend in Iowa and South Carolina. On Saturday evening, Congressman Delaney delivered the keynote address at the Horry County Democratic Party SHORE Dinner in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Delaney then headed to Iowa, where he spoke at the Audubon County Democratic Party fundraiser on Sunday. On Monday morning, Delaney held a Meet and Greet with Pottawattamie County Democrats at Duncan’s Cafe in Council Bluffs, Iowa. President Trump won all three counties by wide margins.
This weekend, Delaney will make his second campaign trip to New Hampshire.
“Over the last three days we’ve met with hundreds of voters in two key early states to talk about what makes our campaign different: a focus on the future, new ideas for a new economy and an emphasis on bringing civility and back to Washington,” said Congressman Delaney. “We have to reengage with the voters in red states and red counties that feel like the Democratic Party has left them behind, we need to make sure that people in places like Aubudon, Iowa, know that we are on their side. Whether it’s in South Carolina or Western Iowa, the American people are tired of the division, tired of fighting the old battles and ready for us to make government work again.”
Since launching his campaign at the end of July, Congressman Delaney has made two trips to Iowa, along with visits to North Carolina, South Carolina and New Hampshire.
