“Jaime Harrison is the right person for this incredible moment in our nation’s history”

FRIENDSHIP HEIGHTS, MD – John Delaney began his week by endorsing Jaime Harrison in South Carolina’s Democratic primary for the United States Senate. Harrison will likely face incumbent Republican Lindsey Graham in the general election. Hailing from Orangeburg, SC, Jaime was raised by his mother and grandparents, and began working in politics in Orangeburg in 1992. He later would go on to become the youngest person and first African-American to serve as executive director of the U.S. House Democratic Caucus. Jaime was also the South Carolina Democratic Party’s first African-American chair.

Presidential Candidate John Delaney releases the following statement:

“Jaime Harrison is the right person for this incredible moment in our nation’s history. Now more than ever, the people of South Carolina deserve a Senator who will stand up to those who attempt to divide us and fight for the most vulnerable amongst us. That is exactly what South Carolinians will get with the election of Jaime Harrison as their Senator.  I look forward to doing anything I can to help Jaime get elected and increase the reach of Democrats up and down the ticket.”
