It’s been a great weekend in Austin

Thank you to all of you who tuned in across the country and have been sending your support since. On to the next stage!

I hope you got a chance to tune in to my town hall at the SXSW conference in Austin. I’ve spent the last two years traveling the country, meeting voters face-to-face, and spreading my message through a grassroots campaign. While I love getting the chance to chat with single voters or smaller, more personal groups, I was incredibly excited at the chance to share my vision on a national stage.

President Trump Lacks a Moral Compass #SXSW

He has a very narrow transactional view of the world. He doesn’t value our allies. He doesn’t value the institutions that we’ve worked so hard to build. He doesn’t believe in a values-based approach, which is why I believe he lacks a moral compass.

He’s a deeply divisive President who fearmongers and his approach is not who we are as the American people.

My campaign is about working hard, making connections, and bringing the country together, and I wouldn’t be able to do any of that without the help of my incredible team and, of course, my wonderful wife, April. They joined me in Austin for sound checks, final run-throughs, and chatting with press back stage.

Throughout this process, I have been endlessly impressed by the American people’s passion and deep knowledge of our most pressing problems. Last night was no different as the audience asked thoughtful questions about everything from climate change, to voting reform, to my next campaign slogan (the Monday meeting went well👇).

I Come From a Blue-Collar Family

I want every kid in America to have the #opportunities that I had growing up and we do that by investing in people and communities. I know how to do that. #CNNTownHall #SXSW #CNNSXSW

I want every American kid to have the opportunities that I’ve had. You deserve those opportunities, every young person in our country does.

If you haven’t had a chance yet, read about my vision for America’s future on my new issues page. The engaged questions I received reminded me of why I am proud to serve the American people—if we work together, not as Republicans or Democrats but truly as Americans, we can solve these problems. As someone who’s spent their entire life solving problems, both in business and in Congress, I am ready for the challenge of uniting us for this common purpose.

Thank you to all of you who tuned in across the country and have been sending your support since. If you can, help us get to the next big stage by donating here.
