Delaney Statement on Trump’s Mexico Tariff Threat

FRIENDSHIP HEIGHTS, MD – Yesterday, President Trump announced a potential 5 percent tariff on all imported goods from Mexico. The tariff would gradually increase until all undocumented immigration stops. As one of the few 2020 candidates to support President Obama’s Trans-Pacific Partnership, John Delaney has made trade policy a priority on the campaign trail as tariffs have devastated the midwest.

Delaney releases the following statement:

“Just when we thought Trump couldn’t make his trade war policies and his immigration policies worse, Trump decides to lump them together into one.  We all know that Trump doesn’t understand how any of these policies actually affect working Americans.  It’s time for Congress to stop Trump’s trade wars and to come together in a bipartisan manner to pass comprehensive immigration reform and pass the Trans-Pacific Partnership.”
