John’s Vision for America

Americans deserve a leader who will unite our divided nation and turn big ideas—that address present day and future challenges and opportunities—into real solutions. More than just talking points, these are some of the things my administration will prioritize to create a future that is more prosperous, more secure, and more just for you and your family.

Government for the People

Things we need to do to ensure we have a true representative democracy and curb big money dominance and corruption in politics:

  • Reform our corrupt campaign finance system
  • Overturn Citizens United
  • End gerrymandering
  • Have the President debate the Congress every quarter in the U.S. Capitol
  • Advance only bipartisan bills during the first 100 days of my presidency
  • End government corruption
  • End the NRA’s grip on politics and pass common-sense gun safety legislation
  • Expand Pay for Success programs to ensure we’re measuring outcomes and attracting investment and intellectual capital into government for programs that work

Opportunity and the American Dream

Things we need to do to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to live the American Dream:

  • Create a universal health care system
  • Provide universal pre-K, free community college/career and technical training
  • Start a National Service Program for our youth
  • Ensure workers earn equal pay for equal work and have paid family leave
  • Incentivize private sector investment in financially depressed communities
  • Require a significant percentage of government contracts to go to hard-hit communities
  • Raise the federal minimum wage to $15.00
  • Lower the interest rate on student loans
  • Double the Earned Income Tax Credit
  • Launch a $500 billion national affordable housing program
  • Catalyze new relationships between employers and educators to create more apprenticeships

Jobs and Economic Growth

Things we need to do to ensure that our economy grows and creates good jobs:

  • End reckless trade wars and expand trade
  • Build a global public/private coalition against China’s intellectual property theft
  • Increase federal investment in R&D
  • Simplify the tax code
  • Invest $1 trillion in rebuilding America’s infrastructure
  • Cut red tape for small businesses and entrepreneurs
  • Reform our broken immigration system
  • Build entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystems in all communities and geographies

A More Just Society

Things we need to do to ensure that generations of Americans to come have financial resources and have equal opportunity to achieve the American Dream.

  • Strengthen Social Security and make it solvent for 75 years
  • Create a new supplemental retirement savings program
  • Reform our immoral criminal justice system
  • Address climate change by implementing a carbon tax
  • Expand mental health care coverage
  • End outrageous drug price gouging
  • Protect a woman’s right to choose
  • End the Opioid Epidemic
  • Ensure that all Americans are valued and have equality and equity, regardless of race, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, or heritage

A Safer and Stronger America

Things we need to do to ensure that Americans are safe at home and abroad and that the world is peaceful and secure.

  • Support our world-class military with the resources they need, with a particular focus on technological capabilities
  • Restore fiscal discipline and fiscal responsibility and lower our Debt-to-GDP ratio
  • Launch a national AI strategy
  • Protect our digital privacy
  • Harden our domestic infrastructure, technology, and elections system against terrorism and foreign interference
  • Fix the VA health care for our veterans
  • Strengthen existing, and build new, global alliances for peace, prosperity, and security
  • Bolster humanitarian, human rights, and pandemic response capabilities
  • Advance global arms control and non-proliferation agreements in nuclear, chemical, and cyber warfare
